Synopsis:
‘Denise’ is the wild yet deeply human photographic epic that Franck Bétermin has embarked upon: the creation of a series of photographs set in Concarneau, featuring a Breton woman from a bygone era, wearing traditional headdress and costume, finding herself in the world of today.
To achieve this, he has surrounded himself with a team of lovable madcaps, including Isabelle, the costume designer with a passion for traditional Breton dress; Thomas, the ‘Swiss Army knife’ assistant and amateur photographer; and, of course, Denise, an Austrian who has made Brittany her home, and the model for the series.
This documentary series takes a behind-the-scenes look at this ambitious artistic project, humorously exploring Franck’s creative process and the clash between tradition and modernity.
It’s a sparkling web series, a little pop gem to be savoured in small bites, between moments of respite in everyday life.
Here, the behind-the-scenes action becomes the real show: Franck and his crew transform every far-fetched idea into a mini-epic, every unexpected twist into a burst of laughter, and every photo shoot into a joyfully improvised commando mission.
